Jeanie Marie Buss was born in the United States. She currently holds the position of president of the Los Angeles Lakers, the owner of the National Basketball Association. Buss comes originally from California was born into an very wealthy family. Her father Jerry Buss was a real-estate tycoon who later became the manager of the Lakers and other sports businesses. Her parents parted ways in 1972 which made her feel that she was emotionally neglected. Her family's business was started in the age of 19 and became the general manager of the Los Angeles Strings tennis team. Later she created the Los Angeles Blades pro roller hockey team. She served as the president of the Great Western Forum, before becoming Vice President of the Lakers. Buss along with her five sisters were heirs to the Lakers control following the death of Buss' father in 2013. Each sister had an equal voice. Buss was elected president of the Los Angeles Lakers. Buss is co-owner of Women of Wrestling an pro-wrestling promotion company that is based in Los Angeles.
