Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine, a singer-composer who is known for his distinctive mix of soul gospel jazz R&B as well as R&B. From Broadway to European clubs and festivals, Sunshine has performed across the globe. Sunshine is the daughter of Denise White. Although she lives in Atlanta, she originates from Chester Pennsylvania where she began the musical path by singing and playing piano in the church. Following her graduation from Spellman College, Atlanta she began her musical journey on Atlanta's R&B musical scene. The Fighting Temptations The single with her voice on it,"Stalk You A House 12, is only available in Japan. It has been remixed many times, and has become a staple of her live shows. She also has contributed her vocals to The Fighting Temptations' soundtrack. In 2005 she was hired as the primary keyboardist in Tyler Perry's stage production Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday was the Grammy and Tony Award winner who approached her in 2007 to serve as Choral Director of Dreamgirls, the theatre production of Atlanta's National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine was recognized nationally in her four performances during 2008's Democratic National Convention. She was invited to perform during the President's inaugural in 2009.

Trevor Morris, an SCDC prisoner was killed in an altercation with a fellow inmate. Trevor Morris had served 10 years of prison and was killed by stab wounds. The incident took place in the South Carolina Department of Corrections, Columbia, South Carolina. Trevor Morris was 27 old at the time of his death. In the months since his death Morris has been very active on Twitter. Major media outlets haven't reported on the death. Some speculate that it was murder.
